"Alice in Wonderland" is over! My face and neck are going to be brown forever from the G****** Gryphon makeup. Tonight's show was the best of all. Everyone was energetic and excited and nobody forgot any lines and it was just really, really good. I think Colleen and Kim Astle (the Duchess) were pissed at Billy (the Cook) because he was completely upstaging them during one of their moderately serious scenes by standing in his giant cooking pot, dancing, stirring imaginary soup in ridiculous circles, and flinging pepper in the air.
One of Adam (the Cheshire Cat)'s lines still makes me laugh. He's talking to Alice (Colleen) upon re-entering after a disappearance. She says, "Where did you go?", and he, in his deep, smooth voice, says, "Just off! Sometimes I go off, sometimes I go on. Sometimes I go up, and sometimes I come down." Not so amusing? It is when he screws it up. To whit: "...Sometimes I come up, and sometimes I go down." Oh the double-whammy dirtiness of my mind -- I am generally the only one who still snickers at that. It's probably one of those "those who know, don't speak; those who speak don't know" things.

Teehee.

Oh! Katie and I have a theory. We put it together several weeks ago, while watching the new Matrix movie with Keith. A note about the Matrix, btw: watching half of the first movie and missing the second does not increase your enjoyment of the third. Anyway, our theory is founded on the basis of our observations in math class. We think Colleen and Adam are falling in loooooooove and do not yet know it. Why do we think this? Because they are always looking at each other, even across two rows of desks, and he makes silly faces until she notices him and laughs, and they share jokes all the time. They have been sharing lots and lots of stage time and he calls her "darling". Which causes my inner possessive bitch to want to sit *right in between them* and talk to Colleen all block, while making eyes at Adam and then feeling guilty because Tom is such a sweet, sweet, wonderful boy. Guilt is fun... But a much larger proportion of me wants to play matchmaker. Sadly (or not) this would involve breaking up Adam's three-week-old relationship with Lauren Kruper, sister of the infamous Katie "I smell bacon!" Kruper. Katie (Flesher, that is) and I want to know if Colleen knows that she and Adam could be very, very cute together. So we're thinking a sleepover around Christmas-time would be just dandy. As a side note, we know that we are sick, sad people. Give us some credit for acknowledging that, okay?

Something I don't know what to make of: Mr. Meston actually gave me the answers to a couple of questions on the test I was making up. As luck would have it, I would have gotten them right with the answers I was considering, but it's still weird.

So very, very tired. Zzzzz... sweet long-weekend sleep is ahead!

O dear, such a long time without posting.
Well, my life is okay. No angst = no posts ("But I have Angst, Daddy!" hehe). Things are going fine with Tom, I think. And I've been trying to get my proverbial shit together for university applications this weekend. Not easy when you're applying at six different schools, two of which are in another country.

I miss cross-country. When I haven't run in a long time, I get all squirrely and crazed ("but how can you tell?"). It is starting.

In other news, I'm intending to post my fanfic at fanfiction.net very very soon... once I've finished bloody writing it, that is. I have about two/ two-and-a-half pages done thus far. For any interested parties, my screen name there is also chuckleup_buttercup. Or chuckleup, buttercup, I can't actually remember cos you use your e-mail to sign in.

Rememberful Remembrance Day to all. I thought about my grandfathers today, and my grandmother. All three of them got out of the war alive, and two of them lived in Singapore for ten years afterward, because they were stationed there and liked it so much they stayed. Grandpa McClay was in the merchant navy, and Grannie was in the W.A.F. I don't know about Grandpa Kedersha, but I think he was in the navy as well. Both my grandfathers died before I talked to them about anything like that, as Dad's dad passed on before I was even born and Mum's dad died of cancer when I was only three or four. Two summers ago, in Ireland, Grannie talked a lot about her time in the W.A.F. (Women's Air Force, I think), and it was interesting. She only talked about the good times, though, and I'm sure it can't have been a lovely war. I remember particularly her telling me about two friends she had, one named Dorothy and one whose last name was Bats. As her last name was Porterfield and they went everywhere together, they were known as Dotty, Batty, and Potty. I don't know quite why I remember that story. It may only be because I wish I knew her better, and that I'd known her when she was Potty... She makes a lovely old lady, but it would be so nice to see her less old. It really struck me that she's getting old. She walks much more slowly, and speaks more slowly, and forgets things more often. I mean, it's not tragic really, because she is 84, and that's what happens when you're 84. And she's still happy, she gardens like mad still, and she lives in a windy little coast town with two of her sisters and seems very content. But I wish I knew more about her, somehow. She's always so wonderful to talk to, always full of poems and stories.

I'm going to go now because wars are depressing, and so is age.
